Random question for the crowd: For those that are going out, how common is it to see everyday people in any sort of PPE? Given the universal scarcity I’d assumed it might not be too common though I’ve seen a number of people with masks, gloves, etc. Haven’t seen anyone with goggles. Most who are wearing masks/gloves tend to either be older or working in delivery/grocery stores (one high end grocery store appears to be providing their staff with masks, in part to reassure customers). I’m sort of curious how much attention I might draw to myself with various kit, I don’t have anything too crazy/obvious, but wearing goggles would probably be a step up from most people I’ve seen out (and I could imagine might get me a funny look or two). I’m not super worried about what other people think, but just genuinely curious of other people’s experiences.
Not sure if you’ve seen this yet, and I’m struggling to find/verify their data sources, but I found this interesting (there is a state based drop down and national summary) – would love a second opinion from someone with a critical eye: https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections
Re: “early is on-time, and on-time is too late” I’ve taken to frequently browsing supermarket aisles I normally only browse when in need. First to go was the lysol wipes, then the rubbing alcohol, the first run on toilet paper was this past Sunday. I find myself trying to anticipate second order impacts/effects now. As this is also my first post I’d like to say a general “thank you” – been reading this for a little over a year, had a typical 1-month set-up ready over the summer and started taking extra steps by late January to get ahead of the current situation.
