For sectioning off items in you bag, you could go with what the hikers do: ultrasil bags. They come in all types of sizes, colors and densities. I use them when I hike to sort bed clothes, regular clothes, cook kit, quick grab items – all in different colored, water proofed bags within my main bag. I took that idea to my get home bag and it’s awesome. The bags (Sea to Summit is what I use) are reasonably priced, and the don’t add any real weight to your pack. For the blankets, as a retired marine infantryman, avid hiker, and a prepper – shop around! Also, watch sizes, specifically lengths. I’ve used everything from the classic poncho liner (best bang for you buck unless you live in a cold climate), and I love my snugpac jungle blanket (don’t tell my poncho liner!), but as I was looking into ultralight stuff, I found a guy on Esty (don’t judge) who sells hammock sleeping bags – The Hangout or something like that, he makes a ground version that is the best thing I have ever slept under and it weighs about a half a pound… With that – I live in NC, we don’t get as cold here as most of the country gets…
