Which microorganisms does hand sanitizer work on?

I’ve gotten so used to using sanitizer at this point that I was kinda surprised to learn that it’s effective on a bunch of stuff.

The image below is from Popular Science and lists very clearly which bugs hand sanitizer kills and which it doesn’t. Thought it was kinda cool.

Just shared this on Facebook. They should make a version where the text is bigger for sites like that. More people should know this. Not to memorize but to get a better idea of how strong sanitizer is.

 

Good pic! And I’m so relieved it’s widely available again. There was a trend of people making their own with super high alc content. The problem was that the liquid dried really fast. The sanitizer needs to get through the cell wall and do its job. A friend made that mistake but he figured it out pretty quick 😂
