Very good description about how to apply it to oneself. As I minor point I think it could be useful to add the hint that a second pressure dressing can be used without removing the first one in case it isn’t stopping the bleeding (e.g. because of not sufficient pressure used).

For me the main problem is always not use too much pressure and blocking the blood flow. Any hints about how to learn what “just enough” pressure?

It’s better to err on the side of using too much pressure and then slowly release it to see if bleeding resumes. It’s only after I’ve done and failed at that a few times that I would think “maybe I’m pressing so hard that I’m preventing clotting.”

Great to have the context of using e.g. a rock or other objects to help apply pressure.
This shows how and why having some safety pins in your IFAK may be useful to attach a bandage?

Do you want to mention other terms and names such as “Israeli bandage”?
Would it be worth adding a video for each of the top recommendations in The Prepared’s article on pressure dressings? ( https://theprepared.com/gear/reviews/pressure-dressing/ ) Or are they similar enough that they would mostly work the same way?

The principle is similar and intuitive enough among the different top products. Updated text to include other common names.

Regarding improvisation, would the 4×4 gauze pads or 5×9 ab pads recommended for the Level II and III IFAKs coupled with ACE wrap and, of course, a small rock, be adequate to get the job done.
