I currently live in Nashville, and what you say about Californians seems to be a universal complaint ’round here. Although, the Californians I know seem generally happy to be here, and I can’t fault people for wanting to escape it. Your article really does make me consider living in the country though. I originally moved to Nashville cuz I wanted to get away from the big city, but my wife needs to work in a city so it was a compromise. I love bikes, growing things, and shooting things so it sounds like an epic way to live.
