As a young boy scout I remember the motto "Be Prepared". Two experiences in my adult life urged me to heed that advice. One was an apartment fire 2 doors down from my own, and the other was a 11 day blackout. While I thought I was prepared enough, in both these occurrences I found myself lacking. While I may not currently have the money or resources to be the ultimate survivalist, being well-informed and having a preparedness mindset is equally important. I find "The Prepared" a good place to start.
