I salt cured a couple of hams and lots of canned fish of every kind. I’ve bought lots of canned meat from a company called Keystone that has just meat and salt in their product, they have a video on their site showing the entire process so you can literally see the “sausage” being made. I know when I’ve gone off keto hunger pangs return quickly and fierce and I’m hungry every couple of hours but when I’m on keto one good meal is all I need. A normal weight person has about 100,000 calories of fat they can live off of but if you’re a carb burner rather than a fat burner you’re going to suffer. Keto is my best strategy.
Firstly staying keto for as long as possible will definitely keep you stronger and control the hunger pangs longer so I’ll skip the chili, the ones I’ve looked at are not keto friendly. Secondly, I wax my own cheese. Shelf life is 5 years and I can buy 8 Oz. Cheese blocks when they’re on sale. I just bought 7 lbs of cheese for $20 which makes it very affordable. A one pound block of wax costs $7 and coats about 4 lbs of cheese. Keeping keto is very doable while prepping and a survival strategy too.
