Love the list..great job Former OB and NICU nurse here. If you want a pacifier for the baby, bring it, the hospital I worked at was “certified baby friendly,” ( for breastfeeding/etc) which means they do not give pacifiers out unless medically indicated . Also suggest to bring snacks for the parents.. sometimes we would run out of turkey sandwiches/ any kind of snack if there were a lot of deliveries. (Night shift.) Don’t forget the phone charger. #1 thing that is forgotten , and also left behind. You will want your phone charged so you can take pictures for sure. Also , definetely ask for second opinions and ask questions. Medical providers are human, hospitals are short staffed. Advocate for yourself and your family. You can always ask for the nurse in charge or to speak to a doctor. It is your right to understand what is going on medically and to have things explained in a way you can understand.
