Nice looking tool.  I really like the comparison to the average hardware store tools.  Most stuff we buy today is disposable after a few seasons.

You familiar with Rogue hoes?  I have several field hoes & some smaller, pointed ones.  Seems like they are like your hoe in that they are nothing like what you would buy in a hardware store.  They are built to last a lifetime.

The head of the hoe has some nice weight behind it and is exceedingly sharp.  WIth the heavy head you learn to let gravity do the work.  It is much easier to weed with one of these than those lightweight pieces of junk.  A field hoe like this with a 6 or 7″ blade can really clear out grass & weeds.  As a prepper, one of these would be invaluable for clearing grass & creating new garden plots after a crisis.  Here is a pic of me hoeing the corn this spring.

Great review! Based on your recommendation we went to easydigging.com and ordered the hoe, and also one of their long handled mattocks. We’re looking forward to using them (my wife is disproportionately excited — she’s our main gardner).
