Mylar Bags

Having just packed a couple hundred meals in mylar bags, I thought I would share my insights.

Use bags with a pleated bottom.  It really helps when the bags can stand on their own.

Thicker bags are better than thinner bags

Label both sides of the bag with the contents

Color code the label according to the type of meal – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, fruit, etc.

Use an iron to seal the bags.  I found it gave me the most control.

I doubled up on the OAPs, just in case they were not 100% effective.

Anyone have additional thoughts to share?
