Specialized prepper multitool for food preparation

This multi-tool is for preppers – food preppers that is

Good morning,

It’s about a gadget for food preparation when out in the field and this multitool is the de factor kitvhen drawer of gadgets.

It’s approximately configured like a Swiss Army Knife.  It has a cheese grater, inter alia – amongst other things. Not familiar with “Zester”.

One thing I’m sure the gadget cannot do is open Brazil nuts. My method requires use of a crash ax and multitool with a vice grip.

Most definitely carry the needed cleaning products along with this field expedient kitchen tool(s).  Otherwise the bugs /  animals will follow.

I have a swiss army tool similar to this that has a knife, spoon, and fork, but this takes it to an entirely new level.

A zester is for shaving off small amounts of citrus peel. For example, a lemon bar recipe that I have calls for lemon juice and lemon peel zest. I usually use a cheese grater and shave off portions of the peel instead of having a specific zester tool.

Food preparation is an area I need to continue to work on for my bug out bag.

I didn’t know what a zester was either, so thank you for the explaination Dragoon.

      Good afternoon Dragon,

Appreciate explaining what a zester is.  Thank you.

I also must continue to work on my food prep tools.

Am looking for something to replace a full-sized needle nose pliers … I am serious re this example ! … to break off sections of the Trader Joe’s large chocolate bar.  This chocolate bar  fits in field jacket pocket.

Not directly related to all this – at least I haven’t seen it – in this backwater county and avoiding the 2 nearby big cities  until peace arrives on Earth – is a chocolate product always carried when working in Asia. It’s not a “bar”.  The chocolate is molded into a triangle and packaging also a triangle … believe pale tan.  Always considered this high-quality airport-available chocolate needed a hammer and chisel to break off a triangle segment !

Would a set of needle nose pliers on a multitool or even a smaller pair of needle nose pliers do the trick for your purposes?

I think that triangle chocolate you are talking about is Toblerone. I fell in love with this chocolate when I was visiting Asia and Europe. And you are right, it did take quite some effort to break off a segment. Funny how we each recall that as one of it’s main characteristics.

        Good afternoon Gideon,

        Yes, … that’s it: Toblerone !

No, for my specific case, a multitool w/ needle nose pliers nor a small shop size work.

Even my full size needle nose pliers that have been carrying in my field jacket does fit into valley section.  It’s just that I probably need a specialized tool (hopefully available for other uses also) that can accomodate my hand injuries aggrivated by arthritus.

        ……

I am now in the mood for some triangles of Toblerone and an espresso !
