I bought the Maxpedition M-1 waist
pack with the intentions of using it for my PDA, pen, USB thumb drive
and other misc items that I use at work. It has worked very well for
this purpose and now keep a few extras in it like cash, gum/mints,
etc. Just like all the other Maxpedition gear it is well built and
constructed of heavy material. This thing feels like it will last
forever.
The main pouch opens like a clam
shell. Inside are two open pouches for keeping everything organized.
The inside pouch fits my PDA (Clie PEG-T615C) very well. Almost
like it was built just for this specific model. I use the other
pouch for some cash and memory sticks. In the main compartment
between the two inside pouches I keep a LED flashlight and space pen.
There is also a second compartment on
the outside of the waist pack that is closed with a quick release
buckle and velco. I don't carry enough in it yet to use this pouch
but I’m thinking that one of the small Kel-Tec handguns would fit
nicely into it. I’ll have to visit the local shop and report back.
I’ve been happy with this pouch. I
do have to say though that I don't carry it outside of work. I
usually wear a untucked button up shirt and it looks goofy if I tuck
the shirt around the pack or let my shirt hang over the pack. If I’m
not wearing a button up shirt I’m wearing a 5.11 vest and I don't
like how the waist pack bulges out.
If your looking for a small pack to
relieve the bulges in your pockets this may be the pack for you.
